I stepped off the Pam Am plane in a far away place called Saigon. Little did I know then it was the first step of what was to become a life long journey as a Saigon Kid.
That day, so long ago, was my 16th birthday. Little did I know I was about to receive the best birthday gift of my life – Saigon and Saigon Kids – that would change me forever, in oh so many ways, which I’m still learning to understand.
While it has been over half a century, it seems like just yesterday we walked the streets of Saigon, played baseball, hung out at the Cercle, danced and partied the nights away together. Ahh, how sweet the memories 🙂
May we all enjoy another 50 years of making more and more memories together as – Saigon Kids.
Let the good times Rock Onnnn … Saigon Kids 🙂
Bob
And a very happy birthday to you, Bob. May you have many more healthy, happy and prosperous years ahead of you. And again, thanks for all of your efforts with this website and bringing so many Saigon Kids together. Kudos of course, to Roy as well.
Ken
Thanks Ken! 🙂
Let the good times keep on roll’n …
Happy belated birthday Bob. It does just seem like yesterday and I remember well stepping off my plane, which I think was a military plane, to the thick aromas and sweltering humidty of Saigon. And, it felt just like that at the reunion in Saigon one year ago and I just loved experiencing it again. Now looking forward to the reunion in 2012! Hope you and Ken Yeager can make it too.
Ruth
Ruth – thank you so very much! 🙂
Ahh, yes the *Saigon aroma* – lol – just for fun, try to describe it in words – lol
