I’m thankful for a meeting last summer in Washington D.C. with people who attended The American School in 1963 and 1964. Thank you Elvira for bringing us together.

I am thankful for this website that is helping us connect with one another. This year I am particularly thankful to have reconnected with Renee Daniels King. Even though I was only at the American Community School for one semester, she invited me to a sleepover at her home with other girls…she was so kind and welcoming.
After college, we both ended up as psychiatric clinical nurse specialists in different parts of the country. What part did our experiences in Saigon/Vietnam play in that choice? A huge part!

She is now my new old friend!
    God bless us, everyone!

Mr. Parker, one musn’t mess with AUBURN !

I’m thankful for still being alive and able to enjoy this and that. New/old friends have popped up for me as well. Not only from Saigon, but Vienna too. I’m thankful for the Bootsie Quest and that it worked.
My grandchildren are a true blessing and magnificent to watch grow.
I actually cannot list all the things and thoughts I thank God for everyday.
I hope all of you feel the same.

Be thankful for all good things my friends,
    Bootsie

I am thankful that my parents raised my brother, sister and me in several different countries so that we could really appreciate all that we, as Americans, have. My wife and I travelled with our three kids in the hopes that they too would be more open to understanding other cultures. Since retiring seven years ago my wife and I are seeing even more of our shared world. This ability to see and experience other countries and cultures has, I believe, made me more tolerant and understanding of those that many Americans are being taught to hate and fear.
Best Wishes for a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving, Dave (ACS ’62 – ’65)

I am thankful to be a child of a loving God, and for the gift of dearest friends over all the years. I am thankful for my country and freedom. I am thankful for my family, near and far, for my children and grandchildren, and especially for my beloved husband of 50+ years. I am thankful for my vision, my health and my life. I am blessed.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Bob, and to all my Saigon friends. I treasure our shared memories.

    Love,
    Suellen

There is so much to be thankful for EVERY day, because tomorrow is not promised.

I especially thank Bob and each of the Sai Gon Kids I’ve met who has enriched my life with kindness. I am grateful for the happiness that comes along with this season. I traveled far to be reunited with some friends dated back some 50 years ago who are living overseas, and most notably some friends who, unbeknownst to me, are living so close to me all this time, all the way back from my years of living in Bien Hoa when I was 16. These shared memories with the Sai Gon Kids shall be cherished for a lifetime.

This year, an important member of my family is experiencing a health situation; not something to look forward to during Thanksgiving Holidays. I am thankful for each golden sunrise filling the morning sky.

Thank you for being my friends. I have the good fortune of being an intimate part of the human spirit.

Here’s to another year of giving thanks for all blessings.

    Happy Thanksgiving wishes to everyone!

I’m thankful for laughter and tears
    For memories, for friendships
    That last through the years.

    I’m thankful for kindness
    the kind that you share.
    With family and friends
    any time, anywhere.

But most of all, I’m thankful to be able to give thanks with a grateful heart.

I am thankful that I can be in Hoi An for Christmas, sipping Saigon Beer.
Merry Christmas and happy new year, Saigon Kids!

I guess I’m thankful that my wife and I are still alive given that we are now in the Upper Middle Age bracket and like the rest of you, beginning(?) to suffer from rust, creaks and whistles as we try to do things. Seriously, I am glad that have been in contact with those of you who were a part of my youth and the wonderful years in Saigon as a kid. Gisela and I will continue on life’s journey as long as we can, staying here in Germany and enjoying what is offered to us each day. Looking forward to 2018, warm weather, good health and a change for the better in the US. Christmas greetings to all of you. Be good. Be safe.
