The GECKO Project – 1961 Year Book

The Gecko Project is under way in the Photo Gallery. Class pictures for the 1961 Year Book are now posted in the Photo Gallery.

I still need copies of the 1959, 1960 and 1962 thru 1965 Year Books.

If possible I’d like to obtain ‘complete’ copies of the year books … cover to cover … so when I convert them to eBooks, each year will be a complete year book just like the original ‘print’ year books.

Once I recieve additional year’s of the Geckos I’ll post them to the Photo Gallery.

Thank you in advance to everyone who participates in this project by contributing copies of their year books. Much appreciated.

Bob

Bob, did you get a 1963 yearbook. As I mentioned once awhile ago I seem to have two. One is mine and one has Dorothy Malone’s name on it. Anyway, if you don’t have one I can send it. Let me know.

Alice, No I don’t have a 63 Gecko. I currently have a 1961 and 1962 Gecko. I still need copies of the 1959, 1960, 1963, 1964 and 1965 Gecko’s. It would be wonderful if you could send me a copy of the 63. I’ll scan it then return it to you.

    Thanks,
    Bob

    Bob,

Please confirm the address where you would like my very precious Gecko sent and it will be on its way very soon. It is in excellent condition other than the binding and a very few “pictures” of Saigon in the back that my son cut out for a school project. But that was only Saigon buildings. All the faces and clubs and sports pages are unharmed. I was a sophomore that year. The Rainbow Girls is an international youth organization for girls from 11 to 20 that teaches leadership skills, confidence and citizenship. It was newly formed at ACHS in 1963 and was the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. Mrs. Phyllis Hunt was our advisor. Some of the members were me, my sister, Susie Hunt Maile Miller, Sandy McClure, Susie Adams, Barbara Bush and Candy Bush. I can’t say that I remember exactly what all we did but we got to wear adorable formal gowns and look like we all belonged on a wedding cake. You can check this out when you get my yearbook.

Checked out the currently scanned pictures. Great job!!! Alice

Alice, see the email I sent you re: mailing instructions, etc.

ahh Rainbow Girls – ACS lovely ladies in adorable gowns on a wedding cake .. Now that does create an interesting ‘image’ in ones mind … lol 🙂 I can’t wait to hear Ken’s comments on this!!! … LOL

Oh Wait! This must be where Ken lost all the Lovely Ladies he can’t seem to remember anymore … Quick, Ken, look on (or in) the wedding cake … ha ha ha 🙂

All kidding aside, it sounds like the Rainbow Girls might have been sorta like an advanced Girl Scout type organization … maybe …

PS: I just spent a couple hours posting 18 more items to the photo gallery … then took a break to eat dinner … came back to the computer to finish the project … then discovered I got timed out of the photo gallery … lost all 18 entries … LOL too funny … lol … I love these computers BUT sometimes they do crazy things … ha ha ha … I think just to rattle us humans … 🙂
