THE QUEST: ROBERT WANTS TO LOCATE CAPTAIN SELLERS

Submitted by Robert (Guest Visitor)

Fort BenningI just stumbled onto this Post

“Saigon Kids Stories: Sturzenacker”

while I was trying to locate Captain Sellers. I was assigned to the 13th PID right out of OCS and before my deployment to Vietnam.

If he’s still alive, I would love to find him and thank him – he probably saved my life, but also because he was such a great guy. I know it’s been 48 years or so, but if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

    Robert,

I last saw Sellers in April 1971. At that point, he was VolIndef and awaiting relief as CO of the 13th PID, His plan was to return to Columbia, SC because he expected a Pink Slip rather than appointment to the Infantry Officer Advanced Course.

Tracking down people is what I did for the Army in those days so back then, using that technology, I would recommend starting with the 1972 City Directory for Columbia, SC. In those days the City Directory could provide addresses plus names and addresses of neighbors. You may be able to follow him using successive editions of the City Directory and of course, you may be able to follow the trail to electronic records.

I am 71 now, and he was about 4-6 years my senior so time may be short.

There is one other person among Saigon Kids that may catch this posting and respond: Bill Thrasher

    Cheers-Kevin
