This was George Harrison’s last public performance. Broadcast the day George Harrison died in 2001.
Watch as the quiet Beatle, George Harrison, speaks about things such as The Beatles and The Concert for Bangladesh (the precursor to humanitarian events like “Live Aid” and “Farm Aid” and other such global fundraising concerts) he orchestrated in August 1971 along with Ravi Shankar (who is in attendance in this interview) and see the very last time this man of peace performed in public in this VH1 interview with John Fugelsang.
george’s last. yes please.
George Harrison is my favorite of the Beatles. “All Things Must Pass” and “Concert For Bangladesh” (Sue and I bought this album in Georgetown as our souvenir of our trip, when we went to D.C. in March of ’72 to be interviewed to work for the C.I.A..) are two record albums I still cherish.
By the way, we bought the album “All Things Must Pass” in a Gibson Store (I think they are no longer around!) in Bozeman, Montana in 1971.
