I used to sneak out of school…with a few other guys…I will not tell you one was Bob..and go out to the airport where we drank bamuoiba and listened to the Jukebox. My favorite Auld Lang Syne song was sung by a guy named Burt Blanca…from France or Belgium. I could not find it on the Internet. Gosh, if anyone has it, play it, it really sets the mood of attempting to go from one place to a better one!

Belated Happy New Years to all. My brother Bruce and I are traveling to Saigon, Cambodia and Laos to visit old haunts. We will update upon our return. Ken

Already half way through January & I’m just now wishing you all a great 2013! Many thanks to Bob Layson and Ken Yeager for keeping this blog going and the weekly newsletter arriving in my email. I read my newsletter every week and smile at the memories. I pull out my Gecko yearbooks (’61 & ’62)and look at our very young faces!

Our Christmas & New Year’s were full of travel. We drove nearly 4,000 miles, through 11 states in three weeks to spend Christmas in Colorado Springs with our son, Kevin, his wife, Katie & grandchildren, Lucy & Liam. Then onto Houston, TX for New Year’s to visit our daughter, Kelley, her husband, Jason and grandchildren Austen (Kayla), Tyler, Faith, Teddy, Quincy & Duncan – Julia was in Ohio spending Christmas with her mother. An added blessing was really great traveling weather! Plus, Bill and I still like each other after 7 days in the car…lol! May God richly bless you all in ths coming New Year!
