Did You Know Michael Zivadinovich?

I was wondering if anyone remembers a friend of mine Michael Zivadinovich.

We grew up together in NYC and around 1962 he left for Laos. His father, George, and mother, Boyka, were with the State Department.

Thanks

Ron

    Ron,

I was good friends with Mike in Laos from 1966 through the end of 1967. I knew him as “Zivo” He lived across the street from me in the K-6 Compound outside of Vientiane. He was quite the musician and introduced me to “The Byrds” and I have remained a life long fan. There is a link on this site that can take you to America School Vientiane Laos. It is located under the great sites located on the mail page. If you find out any more info, please share. Good luck.

Unfortunately, according to google, Michael died November 29th, 2013. I hate to be the bringer of such sad news.

Mike and I were best buddies. I remember our first day in kindergarten like it was yesterday. It was over 56 years ago.

    RIP Mishko

I knew Zivo in Vientiane, Laos, 1963-1968. I lived in K-6 on 5th St, he lived on 6th. Great guy, loved by everyone, great musician, too. Last saw him in VA, forget the year, with other Lao buddies. Have a picture somewhere. So happy to see this site and connect with others who knew him. Pam Mitchell and I were just talking on the phone recently, remembering everyone. She told me that Mike was gone. 🙁

My apologies for this late response. You mentioned in your post that you “have a picture somewhere,” I take it of Michael?

May I be so presumptuous as to ask you if you could search for it, make a copy and send it to me? I would be more that happy to pay for any associated costs.

Michael and I shared a fun life together as children. I remember when he left for Laos. He left JFK airport on a KLM flight and I watched as the plane entered the sky and took my best friend on a new adventure. We did see each other a few times after that, but lost touch when he moved to the West coast.

My email malpelir@ix.netcom.com Thank you for any consideration, Ron
